Franchise Business Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Bark Buster Franchisee!
Paul's Bark Busters' Journey
(Paul Labrum Bark Busters Mornington Franchisee)
Eighteen years ago I found myself job hunting, only to discover that at fifty two I was too old to do anything. A franchise of some sort seemed the obvious way forward but in what field? I looked at everything from carpet cleaning to mobile mechanics. Then I found Bark Busters on Google and thought “you can make a living training dogs?”
I phoned head office and had a chat with one of our founders, Danny Wilson, and sure enough was convinced that you can. Danny flew down to Melbourne to “interview” me and half an hour later we shook hands over a beer and off I went on my Bark Busters journey. Two weeks of intense training and I was on the ground with my own business. I was as nervous as a kitten conducting my first solo lesson, but it went well and my confidence grew with each lesson. Knowing that I had the support of head office and importantly my fellow franchisees was, and is invaluable. I have been lucky enough to have a six week holiday in Europe, fully supported by head office and my colleagues. And when I had some serious health issues again everyone pitched in to support my customers while I recovered.
Eighteen years in one job is unusual in this day and age, but I have one colleague who is celebrating twenty-two years with Bark Busters. Why do we stay so long? Because it is satisfying to see that turn around in people and their dogs. Being a Bark Buster is more of a vocation and a lifestyle than a mere job. I still get that buzz when I put on my uniform and head out to another lesson. The people that use our methods are already committed to getting a result, they may ease off after a while and that is why our guarantee is invaluable. Recalls to existing customers are all about putting them back on track, the dog remembers even if the owner doesn't.
I may be easing back a little by selling one of my territories, but I am still enthusiastic about being a Bark Buster for some time yet.

A Huge Industry... Growing Faster Than Ever
Australia spends in excess of $12.1 billion a year on our furry friends. That's over three times the amount spent on pets a decade ago. The market for Bark Busters is enormous. Experience has shown that once one of our dog training franchises is established in a local area, the word spreads quickly about the effectiveness of the services.
