Calling all naughty Aussie dogs!
Bark Busters and Vetalogica launch Australia’s first Naughtiest Dog Contest
Bark Busters, the world’s largest dog training company, has joined forces with Vetalogica, a leader in animal nutrition and healthcare, to launch the inaugural Australia’s Naughtiest Dog Contest to find the naughtiest dog in Australia.
Dog owners around Australia are invited to submit a photo and short story or video clip illustrating why their dog should be named the naughtiest in Australia. Any dog can be entered into the contest – regardless of breed and age. The contest kicks off on Monday 8 March 2010 and runs until Wednesday 30 June 2010. Winners (there are seven state and territory winners and one grand prize winner) will be selected by a panel of experts, and the overall winner will receive a package of prizes, including free dog training – which includes Bark Busters’ guaranteed lifetime support – and Vetalogica products to transform the winning dog from naughty to nice.
“Australia’s Naughtiest Dog Contest is designed to show Australia that you can teach an old dog new tricks,” says Val Edwards, director, Bark Busters Australia. “Bark Busters and Vetalogica have created this contest to highlight that you don’t need to give up on your dog, because every dog – even older ones – can be trained and be part of a happy and tranquil home.
“We want to showcase this fact by training Australia’s naughtiest dog and having a bit of fun along the way. Whether your dog jumps, barks, digs, pulls, snarls, chews, destroys or suffers from separation anxiety, then you need to enter Australia’s Naughtiest Dog Contest. And with around 3.7 million dogs in Australia, we are sure to find some naughty ones.”
How the contest works
If you have a naughty dog that you think deserves the title of Australia’s Naughtiest Dog, submit either a video clip or a photo and short description to www.australiasnaughtiestdog.com.au or post it to PO Box 139 Dapto NSW 2530. A panel of judges will select seven state and territory winners and one will be crowned Australia’s Naughtiest Dog.
Prizes
The grand prize winner will receive a Bark Busters in-home dog training gold service with a written lifetime guarantee; a Bark Busters training pack (including collar, lead and book); Bondi Pet gift voucher; trampoline bed; and Vetalogica health and pet stress management pack. Bark Busters and Vetalogica will also donate $1000 to the RSPCA on the winner’s behalf. The seven state winners will receive a Bark Busters in-home dog training silver service; Bark Busters training pack; $50 Bondi Pet voucher; and Vetalogica pet stress management pack.
Australia’s Naughtiest Dog Contest runs from 10th March 2010 to 30 June 2010, with the winner announcement slated to take place on 9th July 2010. For full contest details please visit www.australiasnaughtiestdog.com.au.
Note: Australia’s Naughtiest Dog contest has already received its first entry. Steve lives in Sydney with his much loved seven month old Bull Mastiff, named Chewy. His video has now been uploaded which clearly shows how much torrential havoc Chewy is creating in his home. Chewy regularly barks, will not walk on lead, will not sit still for one minute, jumps all over people and the furniture – and Steve even has to carry Chewy to get him home.
