Hi, my name's Brian Heesom and I run the Perth Mid West Region of Bark Busters in Home Dog Training.  I have always been a dog lover, owning dogs for most of my life, even to the extent of rearing a litter of seven greyhounds in the back garden!

I first became interested in Bark Busters from hearing a good friend and Bark Busters Therapist speaking enthusiastically about the results being achieved from the unique training methods.  I decided that Bark Busters needed more investigation so I attended a couple of Home Dog Training sessions with my friend. I was astounded how quickly and easily the Bark Busters system worked, and from that day on I've been "hooked".

I remember clearly a call I received from a lady who asked that I go out and assess her sisters dog, as the dog was barking, jumping up, not toilet trained etc.  Her sister was a paraplegic in a wheelchair and only had limited movement in her right arm.  They were discussing removing the dog from her sister’s household as she thought that her sister could not handle the dog. 

On that initial visit, whilst assessing the dog and talking to the wheelchair bound lady, I quickly discovered that the dog was her only joy in life.  I knew I wanted to help her keep her dog instantly. With a little work at that first meeting we made some minor steps to gain some control by the owner. I returned for our second appointment and we worked well together, taking her and the dog the next level.  We had to make some small modifications to her wheelchair so that she could handle the lead as a training aid.  She was able to train her beloved companion not to pull on the lead, this was such a rewarding lesson to do, and seeing those two happy friends being able to take walks safely together will stay with me forever.
